— Marvin Mvondo, Founder & CEO, SplashArk

KATY, TX, UNITED STATES, October 8, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- SplashArk, Inc., a US technology company founded by Cameroonian-born entrepreneur Marvin Mvondo, today announced that Cameroon is the first market in its Africa rollout. SplashArk is a free app where small sellers, service providers and creators sell products, take bookings, go live and get paid by mobile money or card.

In Cameroon, many traders and service providers already sell through WhatsApp and social media and get paid by phone. But they still lose money to missed appointments, unpaid orders and scams, and buyers often hesitate to pay a stranger first. SplashArk is designed to build trust on both sides: customers pay inside the app, payments are held until delivery, and disputes are reviewed by people.

"Sellers in Cameroon already do business by phone," said Marvin Mvondo, founder and CEO of SplashArk. "SplashArk lets them do it with deposits, receipts and payment protection, so strangers can trust each other and good work gets paid."

Built for how Cameroon does business

Mobile money: Customers pay by mobile money through PawaPay or by card through Stripe.

English and French: The app works fully in both of Cameroon's official languages.

Bookings with deposits: Service providers in 35 categories, including tailors, hairdressers, tutors, mechanics, photographers and event planners, take bookings with a deposit, at the customer's door or by video call.

Storefront and live selling: Sellers list products and choose where to sell, from their neighborhood to worldwide, and can go live with tickets, pay-per-view and tips.

WINTA AI assistant: A built-in assistant helps sellers set prices and answers customer questions at any hour.

A founder with Cameroonian roots

Mvondo, a US citizen born in Cameroon, spent more than 10 years as CEO of Blu Nation, a record label and entertainment company that produced Afrobeats and Afropop artists and staged events across the United States, England and Africa. He founded SplashArk in 2023 in Katy, Texas, to give skilled people who work in the informal economy the same tools as established businesses.

"Talent isn't the problem. Access is," Mvondo said.

SplashArk is free to download on Google Play and the App Store and available on the web at splashark.com/fr. The app is open in more than 30 countries.
