Minister Kgosientsho Ramokgopa briefs media on South Africa’s Revised Electricity Pricing Policy, 18 Aug
The Minister of Electricity and Energy, Dr. Kgosientsho Ramokgopa, will convene a
media briefing tomorrow, Tuesday, 18 August 2026, to outline South Africa’s Revised

The revised policy aims to modernize the national pricing framework, align it with recent sector reforms, and transition toward cost-reflective tariffs whilst continuing the protection of low-income households and supporting distressed industries.
This policy is scheduled to be gazetted for public comment on Friday, 21 August 2026.
Members of the media are invited to attend the briefing as follows:
Date: Tuesday, 18 August 2026
Time: 13:00 (Media to arrive and setup from 12:00)
Venue: GCIS, Tshedimosetso House, Hatfield, Pretoria
